A distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) is a type of DOS attack where multiple compromised systems, which are often infected with a Trojan, are used to target a single system causing a Denial of Service (DoS) attack.
Types of DDoS attacks.
Traffic- It is flooding attack which is used to send huge volume of TCP,UDP and ICMP packets.
Bandwidth - It will overloads the target with massive amounts of junk data.
Application - The data messages can delete rsources in application layer, leaving the target system’s services unavaliable.
DDos Protection methods
- Black-Hole Routing : Black-Hole routing is method of preveting the DDos attacks, It will limit the traffic and provide the basic firewall protection.
- Scrubbing Center: It is a centralized data cleaning station traffic to the website and analyzethe traffic as SQL injection, DDos and other known exploits) will be removed.
